At Meta Mechanics, we understand that the Audi RS7 is a high-performance sports sedan built for both luxury and precision driving. The front brake pads are crucial for maintaining optimal stopping power and handling—especially given the power and speed of the RS7. A brake pad replacement is an essential part of your vehicle’s regular maintenance to ensure safety, performance, and comfort. Recently, we completed a front brake pad replacement for an Audi RS7 in Dubai, and we’d like to share the details of this service, including what we discovered and the benefits of keeping your brake system in top condition.
Issue Identified:
1. Significant Wear on Front Brake Pads
Problem: The front brake pads had worn down to the point where they were close to their minimum thickness. As a result, the stopping power had noticeably diminished, and the owner reported a soft brake pedal and longer stopping distances.
Solution: We replaced the worn front brake pads with genuine Audi replacement parts. These OEM pads are designed to meet the exact specifications required for the RS7’s high-performance braking system, ensuring the same level of precision and efficiency as the original pads.
2. Inspection of the Brake Rotors
Problem: After inspecting the brake rotors, we found that they had some minor surface wear but were still within the acceptable range for reuse. However, the rotors showed slight signs of scoring due to the worn-out brake pads.
Solution: Since the rotors were still in good shape, we resurfaced them to remove the scoring and ensure a smooth, even surface for the new brake pads. This step is essential for restoring the performance and longevity of both the brake pads and rotors.
3. Brake Fluid Check
Problem: During the service, we also checked the brake fluid, which was found to be at the correct level but had a slightly higher moisture content than recommended. This can happen over time as brake fluid absorbs moisture from the air, which reduces its effectiveness.
Solution: We replaced the brake fluid to ensure the hydraulic braking system operates at full efficiency, preventing issues like brake fade or diminished braking power.
