At Meta Mechanics, we recently completed a brake oil change for an Audi S7 and found several issues impacting the vehicle’s brake performance. Brake oil (or brake fluid) is essential for the efficiency and safety of your braking system, as it enables the transfer of force from the brake pedal to the braking components. Over time, brake fluid can degrade, absorb moisture, and lose its efficiency, which can cause braking issues. Here’s what we found during the service, along with the solutions provided to restore optimal brake performance. Audi S7 Brake Oil Change Dubai.
Issues Identified:
- Old Brake Fluid with High Moisture Content
- Problem: The existing brake fluid had absorbed significant moisture, which reduced its boiling point. This can lead to vapor formation under high temperatures, causing brake fade and reducing overall braking efficiency.
- Solution: We completely flushed the old brake fluid and replaced it with high-quality brake fluid that meets Audi’s specifications. This will prevent vapor formation and ensure maximum braking efficiency and reliability.
- Brake Fluid Contamination
- Problem: The old brake fluid showed signs of contamination, likely from debris and other particles entering the brake lines over time. Contaminated fluid can cause wear and corrosion in the brake system, damaging components such as calipers and master cylinders.
- Solution: We thoroughly flushed the brake system to remove all old fluid and contaminants, then refilled with fresh, premium brake fluid. This helps protect the brake system from corrosion and ensures smooth brake operation.
- Air in the Brake Lines
- Problem: Air pockets were present in the brake lines, which can cause a “spongy” or soft brake pedal feel, reducing the driver’s ability to apply consistent braking force.
- Solution: We performed a full bleed of the brake system to remove any trapped air from the brake lines. This restored a firm and responsive brake pedal feel, giving the driver better control over braking pressure.
- Brake Line Corrosion
- Problem: Some minor corrosion was observed in certain brake line sections. Corroded brake lines can weaken over time, leading to potential leaks and loss of braking pressure.
- Solution: We treated the affected areas and recommended further inspection during the next scheduled maintenance. Regular brake fluid changes will help minimize moisture build-up and prevent additional corrosion.
- Worn Brake Components
- Problem: During our inspection, we found that some brake components, such as the caliper seals and pistons, were starting to show signs of wear due to moisture exposure and brake fluid degradation. Audi S7 Brake Oil Change Dubai.
- Solution: We replaced the worn seals to restore their integrity and recommended routine checks to monitor wear on other brake components. Fresh brake fluid will help preserve the condition of these components, reducing future wear.
