Recently, we had the opportunity to perform a comprehensive Lithium Battery replacement on an Audi RS1. During this process, we identified several key issues that could impact performance and safety if left unaddressed. Below is a detailed breakdown of what we found, along with the solutions we implemented.
Issue Identified:
1. Weak Battery Health & Reduced Capacity
Issue: The original Lithium Battery in the Audi RS1 showed signs of reduced capacity and weakened performance. This is common in older batteries or those that have undergone numerous charge cycles. The battery was not holding a charge properly, leading to shorter driving ranges and inconsistent performance.
Solution: We replaced the old battery with a high-performance, factory-compatible lithium battery, which ensures optimal energy storage and longer-lasting power. Our team performed a full charge and discharge cycle to calibrate the new battery, ensuring peak performance and reliability for the client.
2. Corrosion on Battery Terminals

3. Faulty Battery Management System (BMS) Calibration

Solution: After installing the new lithium battery, we recalibrated the Battery Management System (BMS) using advanced diagnostic tools. This ensures that the BMS provides accurate data on charge levels, temperature monitoring, and overall battery health, maximizing both the safety and efficiency of the vehicle’s power system.
4. Charging System Malfunction
Issue: The Audi RS1 displayed signs of charging irregularities, with the battery not charging properly during drives or while parked. This could be due to faulty wiring or issues within the vehicle’s charging system, such as a malfunctioning alternator or charging control module.
Solution: Our expert technicians inspected the entire charging system, including the alternator and related components.
