At Meta Mechanics, we recently encountered a situation with an Audi e-Tron that wouldn’t start, and after a detailed diagnostic assessment, we were able to pinpoint the issue and resolve it efficiently. Below is a breakdown of the common issues that could cause your Audi e-Tron not to start, along with the solutions we implemented to get it running smoothly again.
Issue Identified:
- Low or Dead 12V Battery
Although the Audi e-Tron is an electric vehicle, it still relies on a traditional 12V battery for various systems such as lights, infotainment, and the car’s starting processes. If the 12V battery is low or dead, it may prevent the vehicle from starting.
Solution:
We tested the 12V auxiliary battery and found that it had a low charge. After replacing the dead 12V battery with a new OEM part, the vehicle’s electrical systems were powered up, allowing the e-Tron to start without issues. - Issues with the High-Voltage Battery
The Audi e-Tron is powered by a high-voltage battery, and if there’s an issue with the charging system or the battery itself (such as insufficient charge), it may prevent the vehicle from starting. A low charge in the high-voltage battery will not allow the electric motors to engage.
Solution:
We thoroughly checked the high-voltage battery’s charge and charging system.
