At Meta Mechanics, we recently completed an engine overhauling service on a Range Rover Evoque in Dubai. During the detailed inspection, our technicians identified several critical issues that needed attention to restore the engine’s performance. Below are the key findings and the solutions we provided:
Issue Found:
- Worn-Out Pistons and Rings
- Issue: The pistons and piston rings were heavily worn, leading to poor compression, excessive oil consumption, and decreased engine power.
- Solution: We replaced the worn pistons and rings with high-performance components, restoring proper compression and improving overall engine efficiency and fuel economy.
- Damaged Valve Seals
- Issue: The valve seals were damaged, causing oil to leak into the combustion chamber and resulting in excessive smoke from the exhaust and poor engine performance.
- Solution: We replaced the valve seals to prevent oil leakage, ensuring proper combustion and cleaner exhaust emissions, as well as improved engine performance.
- Cracked Cylinder Head
- Issue: The cylinder head had developed cracks, causing coolant leaks and leading to overheating and potential damage to other engine components.
- Solution: We replaced the cracked cylinder head with a new one to restore engine integrity, ensuring proper coolant flow and preventing future overheating.
- Clogged Oil Passages
- Issue: The engine’s oil passages were clogged, leading to poor lubrication and potential damage to critical engine components due to insufficient oil flow.
- Solution: We thoroughly cleaned the oil passages to ensure proper oil circulation, restoring proper lubrication and extending the lifespan of the engine components.
- Faulty Timing Chain and Tensioner
- Issue: The timing chain and tensioner were worn, which could have led to misalignment and improper valve timing, affecting engine performance and potentially causing further damage.
- Solution: We replaced the timing chain and tensioner with high-quality parts to ensure correct valve timing and optimal engine synchronization, restoring the engine’s smooth operation.
