Your Audi RS7 is a performance vehicle that combines high-speed capability with luxury and comfort. To ensure that it delivers on all fronts, its braking system must be maintained to the highest standards. The rear brake pads are an integral part of this system, working in conjunction with the front pads to provide balanced stopping power. If your rear brake pads are worn, it can affect braking performance, safety, and comfort. At Meta Mechanics, we recently had the privilege of performing a rear brake pad replacement for an Audi RS7 in Dubai, and we’d like to walk you through the process, common issues, and why regular brake pad maintenance is essential for your vehicle.
Issue Identified:
1. Worn Rear Brake Pads
Problem: After removing the rear wheels and inspecting the brake pads, we found that the pads had worn down to near their minimum thickness. The customer had reported a slight decrease in braking performance, particularly in stop-and-go traffic, and there was a noticeable squealing noise when braking.
Solution: We replaced the worn-out rear brake pads with genuine Audi replacement parts. These high-quality, OEM brake pads are specifically designed to match the performance and handling characteristics of the Audi RS7. Fresh pads help restore smooth, reliable braking, and reduce noise and vibration.
2. Brake Rotor Condition
Problem: During the inspection, we examined the brake rotors and found minor scoring and surface wear from the old pads. This was normal wear but could have impacted braking performance if left untreated.
Solution: We determined that the rotors were still within specifications and resurfaced them to ensure a smooth, even surface. This eliminated any scoring and prepared the rotors for optimal contact with the new brake pads, ensuring balanced braking performance.
3. Brake Fluid Check
Problem: We also checked the brake fluid and found that it was slightly lower than the recommended level. Brake fluid loss can be a sign of worn brake pads, and low fluid levels can affect braking performance.
Solution: We topped off the brake fluid to the correct level, ensuring that the hydraulic system had the necessary pressure for proper operation. We also checked the fluid for moisture, which can reduce its effectiveness, and replaced it as needed.
