Range Rover Velar Engine Breather Replacement Dubai

At Meta Mechanics, we recently completed an engine breather replacement for a Range Rover Velar in Dubai. The engine breather plays a crucial role in maintaining engine efficiency by allowing gases to escape from the crankcase. During this repair, our team identified several additional issues that were affecting the vehicle’s performance. Here’s a summary of the problems found and the solutions we provided:

Issues Found During the Engine Breather Replacement:

  1. Clogged Engine Breather Valve
The engine breather valve was clogged with sludge and debris, which restricted the flow of gases, leading to increased pressure in the engine and potential damage to seals and gaskets.
    Solution:
We replaced the clogged engine breather valve with a high-quality, OEM-grade part, restoring proper ventilation and reducing internal engine pressure. We also cleaned the surrounding components to ensure optimal airflow.
  2. Worn Crankcase Ventilation Hose
The crankcase ventilation hose, which connects the engine breather system to the intake manifold, was cracked and brittle, allowing air to escape and affecting the engine’s performance.
    Solution:
We replaced the worn-out hose with a new, durable part to ensure airtight connections. This helped restore proper ventilation and prevented further air loss that could negatively affect engine performance.
  3. Oil Contamination in the Air Intake
Oil contamination was found in the intake system due to improper breather function, which can cause the engine to run poorly and reduce fuel efficiency.
    Solution:
We thoroughly cleaned the air intake system, removing any oil residue, and ensured the engine breather system was functioning properly to prevent future contamination.
  4. Excessive Oil Consumption
The faulty engine breather system was causing excessive oil consumption, as the increased pressure in the crankcase led to oil being forced into the intake manifold.
    Solution:
By replacing the engine breather and associated components, we corrected the oil flow, which helped stop excessive oil consumption. We also topped up the oil to the appropriate level and advised regular checks to prevent future issues.
  5. Damaged Engine Gaskets and Seals
The excessive pressure from the malfunctioning engine breather system had caused damage to some engine gaskets and seals, leading to oil and air leaks.
    Solution:
We replaced the damaged gaskets and seals to eliminate leaks and restore the integrity of the engine. We also performed a system check to ensure that all seals were functioning correctly to prevent future leaks.
