Range Rover Sport Transmission Replacement Dubai

At Meta Mechanics, we are committed to delivering expert automotive solutions to our clients, ensuring that your vehicles run smoothly and efficiently. Recently, we had the privilege of completing a Transmission Replacement on a Range Rover Sport in Dubai. During the inspection and replacement process, we identified several critical issues that needed attention. Here’s a breakdown of the findings and the solutions we implemented to restore the vehicle’s optimal performance:

Identified Issues:

  1. Worn-Out Transmission Solenoid
    • Problem: The transmission solenoid, responsible for controlling the flow of fluid through the transmission, was showing signs of wear. This led to shifting issues, erratic gear changes, and in some cases, the vehicle would hesitate or jerk while shifting.
    • Solution: We replaced the faulty transmission solenoid with a high-quality OEM part, ensuring that the gear shifts are smooth and precise once again.
  2. Clogged Transmission Filter
    • Problem: The transmission filter was clogged with debris and metal shavings, restricting the flow of transmission fluid. This reduced the cooling and lubrication of the transmission, putting unnecessary strain on internal components.
    • Solution: We thoroughly cleaned the transmission system and replaced the old filter with a new, high-performance filter to restore the system’s efficiency and longevity.
  3. Low Transmission Fluid Levels
    • Problem: The transmission fluid was low, which can cause overheating and ultimately damage the transmission. The fluid also appeared to be contaminated, indicating a lack of regular fluid changes.
    • Solution: After draining the old fluid, we filled the system with high-grade, manufacturer-recommended transmission fluid. We also advised the owner on maintaining the fluid levels and regular fluid changes to avoid future issues.
  4. Damaged Torque Converter
    • Problem: The torque converter was found to be damaged. This essential component transfers power from the engine to the transmission. A faulty torque converter can cause slipping, poor acceleration, and unusual noises.
    • Solution: We replaced the damaged torque converter with a new one to restore the proper connection between the engine and transmission, ensuring smoother performance.
  5. Overheating Transmission
    • Problem: The transmission was overheating due to a combination of low fluid levels and a malfunctioning cooler. Overheating can lead to severe damage to the transmission, resulting in costly repairs.
    • Solution: We repaired the transmission cooler and replaced any worn components to prevent future overheating. Additionally, we ensured that the transmission was properly flushed and filled with the correct fluid.
