Range Rover HSE Transmission Oil Change Dubai

At Meta Mechanics, we recently completed a Transmission Oil Change for a Range Rover HSE in Dubai. During the process, our expert technicians discovered several issues affecting the transmission system that could have impacted the vehicle’s performance. Here are the key issues we identified and the solutions we provided:

Issues Identified During the Range Rover HSE Transmission Oil Change

  1. Contaminated Transmission Fluid
The transmission fluid was heavily contaminated with dirt, debris, and metal shavings, which could have led to poor lubrication, overheating, and premature wear of transmission components.
    Solution:
We performed a full transmission fluid flush, removing all contaminants, and replaced the old fluid with high-quality OEM transmission fluid, ensuring optimal performance and extended transmission life.
  2. Worn Transmission Filter
The transmission filter was clogged with debris, reducing the efficiency of fluid circulation and putting additional strain on the transmission.
    Solution:
We replaced the old, worn transmission filter with a new, high-quality filter, ensuring proper filtration of the fluid and preventing contaminants from entering the transmission.
  3. Low Fluid Levels
The transmission fluid levels were significantly low, which could have led to inadequate lubrication and caused the transmission to overheat, resulting in potential damage to key components.
    Solution:
We topped up the fluid to the correct levels, ensuring that the transmission operates with proper lubrication and avoiding any risk of overheating or internal damage.
  4. Leaking Transmission Seals
We found that some of the transmission seals were leaking, which contributed to a slow loss of fluid and could have led to further fluid contamination and system damage.
    Solution:
We replaced the damaged seals, ensuring that the transmission is fully sealed and preventing future fluid leakage, thereby preserving the integrity of the transmission system.
  5. Excessive Wear on Clutch Plates (in Automatic Transmission)
Upon inspection, we noted signs of excessive wear on the clutch plates, which could result in slippage and poor shifting behavior.
    Solution:
While the primary issue was addressed with the fluid change, we also recommended a thorough transmission inspection to check the clutch plates’ condition. If necessary, we would suggest replacing them to ensure smooth shifting and prevent long-term transmission problems.
