Recently, we completed a brake pads and rotors replacement for an Audi TT MK2 in Dubai. Below, we’ll explain the common issues we discovered with the brake system and the solutions we provided to ensure the vehicle is ready for safe and reliable driving.
Issue Found:
1. Worn Brake Pads
Problem: Over time, the brake pads on the Audi TT MK2 can become worn down due to regular use. When brake pads wear too thin, they lose their effectiveness, resulting in longer stopping distances, squealing noises, and potential damage to the rotors. Worn-out brake pads are not only unsafe but can also lead to costly repairs if ignored.
Solution: During the inspection, we found that the brake pads had worn down past the manufacturer’s recommended thickness. To restore optimal braking performance, we replaced the worn brake pads with high-quality, OEM-equivalent pads. This ensured smooth braking, reduced noise, and improved overall stopping power for the Audi TT MK2.
2. Warped or Scored Rotors
Problem: The brake rotors can become warped or scored over time due to heat, wear, or aggressive braking. Warped rotors can cause vibrations when braking, reduced braking efficiency, and uneven pad wear. Scoring can also damage the brake pads and decrease the overall performance of the braking system.
Solution: Upon inspection, we found that the rotors had become both scored and slightly warped. We recommended replacing the old rotors with new, high-performance rotors designed for the Audi TT MK2. 3. Brake Pad Wear Indicators

5. Uneven Brake Pad Wear
Problem: If the brake calipers are sticking or not functioning correctly, it can cause uneven wear on the brake pads. This results in the vehicle pulling to one side during braking and can cause the pads to wear out unevenly, leading to less efficient braking and the need for more frequent replacements.
Solution: We inspected the brake calipers and found that one of them was slightly sticking. We serviced the caliper to ensure that it moved freely, allowing the new brake pads to wear evenly. This eliminated the uneven braking and restored proper pad contact with the rotor, improving overall braking performance.
