Issue: We noticed that one of the front brake pads showed signs of uneven wear, which can often indicate a problem with the brake calipers (e.g., a caliper that is not properly retracting, or a stuck piston). Uneven wear can reduce the overall effectiveness of the braking system and cause vibrations or noise during braking.
Solution: We thoroughly inspected the brake calipers, cleaned the pistons, and ensured that the calipers were functioning properly. Additionally, we lubricated the caliper slides to ensure smooth movement. If needed, we can replace faulty caliper components or seals to prevent further uneven wear and ensure even braking pressure across the pads.
5. Brake Pedal Feel & Performance
Issue: The owner reported that the brake pedal felt slightly soft or spongy. This can be a sign of air in the brake lines, a leak in the brake system, or a potential issue with the master cylinder.
Solution: To address this, we bled the brake lines to remove any air trapped in the system and checked the brake lines and master cylinder for leaks or damage. After the bleed, the brake pedal was firm and responsive, returning to its ideal feel. This ensures the RSQ8’s braking system is as responsive as it should be, providing both safety and confidence behind the wheel.
