Range Rover HSE Electric Power Steering Rack Repair Dubai

At Meta Mechanics, we specialize in the repair and maintenance of high-end vehicles such as the Range Rover HSE. Recently, we completed a repair of the electric power steering rack for a client whose vehicle was facing difficulties with steering responsiveness, unusual noises, and inconsistent power assist. After performing a detailed inspection, we discovered several issues contributing to the problem. Here are the findings and the solutions we provided:

Issues Identified and Solutions:

  1. Faulty Electric Power Steering Motor: The electric motor in the steering rack was found to be malfunctioning, causing intermittent loss of steering assist and making the steering feel heavy, especially at lower speeds.
    Solution:
We replaced the faulty electric motor with an OEM-quality motor, restoring proper steering assistance and ensuring smooth, responsive steering.
  2. Damaged Steering Rack Sensors: The steering rack sensors, responsible for sending data to the vehicle’s electronic systems, were found to be damaged, which resulted in inaccurate data and improper power assist adjustments.
    Solution:
We replaced the damaged sensors, ensuring accurate data transmission to the steering control system, improving steering precision and consistency.
  3. Power Steering Fluid Contamination: Contaminated power steering fluid was found in the system, which could potentially damage the electric power steering components and impair overall system performance.
    Solution:
We flushed the entire power steering system to remove the contaminated fluid and replaced it with fresh, high-quality fluid to prevent further damage and ensure optimal system performance.
  4. Worn-Out Steering Rack Bushings: The steering rack bushings were worn out, causing increased vibrations and excessive play in the steering wheel, leading to poor handling and feedback.
    Solution:
We replaced the worn bushings with new, durable OEM parts, ensuring reduced vibrations and restoring the smooth, stable feel when turning the steering wheel.
  5. Damaged Wiring and Connectors: We found that some of the wiring and connectors related to the electric power steering system had signs of wear and corrosion, leading to electrical faults and inconsistent power assist performance.
    Solution:
We repaired and replaced the damaged wiring and connectors, ensuring reliable electrical connections and the consistent performance of the electric power steering system.
