Range Rover Sport Transmission Overheating Repair Dubai

At Meta Mechanics, we understand how critical your vehicle’s transmission is to its performance. Recently, we completed a transmission overheating repair on a Range Rover Sport in Dubai. Transmission overheating can lead to serious damage and costly repairs if not addressed promptly. During our inspection, we identified several key issues that were causing the overheating problem. Here are the issues we found and the solutions we implemented to restore the vehicle’s transmission to optimal working conditions.

Issues Found During Transmission Overheating Repair:

  1. Low Transmission Fluid Levels: Low fluid levels were found to be one of the main reasons for the overheating, as insufficient fluid can’t effectively cool or lubricate the transmission, leading to increased friction and heat buildup.
    Solution:
We topped up the transmission fluid to the proper level using high-quality fluid that matches the manufacturer’s specifications. Ensuring proper fluid levels helps in maintaining optimal cooling and prevents overheating.
  2. Contaminated or Old Transmission Fluid: The transmission fluid was found to be degraded and contaminated with debris, which reduces its ability to transfer heat away from the transmission, leading to overheating.
    Solution:
We performed a complete transmission fluid flush to remove the old, contaminated fluid and replaced it with fresh, high-performance fluid that ensures proper cooling and lubrication.
  3. Faulty Transmission Cooler: The transmission cooler was found to be clogged or malfunctioning, reducing its ability to dissipate heat effectively and contributing to the overheating issue.
    Solution:
We cleaned and repaired the transmission cooler to restore its full functionality. In cases where cleaning wasn’t sufficient, we replaced the cooler with a new, high-quality part to ensure proper heat management.
  4. Damaged or Worn Out Transmission Pump: The transmission pump was found to be worn, which compromised the fluid circulation needed for optimal cooling. A failing pump can lead to insufficient fluid flow, increasing the likelihood of overheating.
    Solution:
We replaced the damaged transmission pump with a new OEM component, ensuring proper fluid circulation throughout the system to maintain adequate cooling and prevent overheating.
  5. Faulty Solenoids or Sensors: Malfunctioning solenoids or temperature sensors can cause irregular fluid flow or improper temperature readings, which may result in the transmission running hotter than it should.
    Solution:
We replaced any faulty solenoids or sensors and recalibrated the transmission’s electronic control unit (ECU) to ensure that the transmission operates at the correct temperature and performs smoothly under all conditions.
