Meta Mechanics recently completed an oil change service for a Range Rover HSE in Dubai. During this service, our experienced technicians conducted a comprehensive inspection and identified several key issues that could affect the engine’s performance and longevity. Below are the issues we discovered and the solutions provided to ensure optimal engine function.
Issues Identified:
- Old and Contaminated Engine Oil
- Problem: The engine oil was significantly degraded, contaminated with dirt, debris, and sludge, reducing its ability to properly lubricate the engine and causing increased friction and wear on key engine components.
- Solution: We replaced the old oil with high-quality, manufacturer-recommended oil, ensuring that the engine is properly lubricated and reducing friction for smooth operation and improved performance.
- Low Oil Levels
- Problem: The oil level was below the recommended range, potentially causing inadequate lubrication, increased engine wear, and the risk of overheating.
- Solution: We topped up the engine oil to the appropriate level, ensuring sufficient lubrication to protect engine components from damage and to maintain proper engine temperature.
- Clogged Oil Filter
- Problem: The oil filter was clogged, reducing its efficiency in removing contaminants from the oil, which can lead to poor engine performance and damage to internal parts.
- Solution: We replaced the clogged oil filter with a new, high-quality filter, ensuring effective filtration and preventing contaminants from circulating through the engine.
- Engine Sludge Buildup
- Problem: Prolonged oil change intervals had resulted in the buildup of sludge in the engine, restricting the oil’s ability to flow freely and lubricate critical parts.
- Solution: We performed an engine flush to remove sludge and debris, ensuring that the new oil can flow freely and properly lubricate all engine components for smoother performance.
- Worn Valve Seals
- Problem: The valve seals were worn, which can lead to oil leaks and increased oil consumption over time.
- Solution: After replacing the oil and filter, we recommended replacing the worn valve seals to prevent oil leaks and excessive consumption, ensuring the engine remains sealed and efficient.
